Fast forward 8 months, and our garlic is ready for market. This is our first season planting it, and we are completely sold. It is amazing actually. Through snow, sleet, an April mini-flood, and a June drought, our garlic pressed forward. The garlic, and we as growers, have been through a lot this past year. The numerous challenges of the season left us wondering: What will our garlic bulbs look like?
Many growers pick a sample or two throughout the season to check on bulb development, to make sure pests haven't infiltrated their stock, or to get a little "green garlic" for their home kitchen. We refrained. Due to this refrain, we had no idea what to expect. Long story short...The bulbs look great! We did a lot of work preparing the beds, planting the garlic, and weeding throughout the season, but the true hero in this story is the garlic. It is a hardy crop that grows strong when snow is 3 ft deep, and continues its development through drought and rain. It is awesome.
We are more than happy to dedicate this first post to you, Garlic... and also to everyone and anyone who supported us as we got this website up and running - Thank You!
